Big Brother 2013 has ended. And, as we have been saying for weeks, Andy Herren played the best Big Brother 2013 game, which resulted in his win. However, we cannot say we liked Andy’s game on Big Brother 2013. In fact, we can’t really say there was anyone on Big Brother 2013 who played a perfect game. It was a very hard season to pick people to root for, but besides that, there were a lot of holes in this Big Brother 2013 production. So much so that this season will definitely go down in Big Brother fans’ minds as one of the worst seasons. So what can the Big Brother producers do to improve Big Brother 16?
We have a few suggestions.
Cast Big Brother Fans, Not Pretty People
For the last couple of seasons, it’s been apparent that the Big Brother producers have focused more on the “hot factor” than the fan one. They have casted people who are good looking, but terrible game players. Many have never even seen the show. As shallow as the general public can be, usually the well-liked and the ones people root for are also the Big Brother superfans. Therefore, Big Brother 16 needs more superfans and less models. Why not even cast a season full of superfans?
Revisit Major Twists From Season 3-8
The best Big Brother twists were things no one saw coming. By no one, we mean both fans and players were clueless about them. Some of our favorites were Big Brother 4’s season of exes, Big Brother 5’s project DNA and Big Brother 8’s season of enemies. What made these twists special was that they added real life obstacles to the game. We need more social implication twists on Big Brother 16 and on.
More Honest Edits
A problem that plagues most Big Brother seasons is: ‘how manipulated is it?’ No one is naive enough to not realize that there is some fixing of contests, adding twists just to save people or flat out production getting involved to alter the outcome of the game.
However, editing out certain things to make players look better than others, will also cause fans to scream “FIXED!” Therefore, next season try for more honest edits. Don’t cover up some players behavior, show their true characters. Keep it within the network’s guidelines but stop making some people seem like angels and others villains. Show all the sides of every player, that’s the only real way to honor the social experiment.
Here are a few other suggestions: add a more racial diverse cast, no veterans, only newbies and less focus on showmances and more on the game.
